Dragons
Arlia has a lot of dragons, and most of them have tried to kill someone on this page.
Campaign 1
- Giras, an adult white dragon living in the mountain warehouses near Goku’s home on Mount Paozo. He used his tunnels to cut the party off when they took a Star Orb from his warehouses.
- An adult black dragon ambushed Greene and Elyon at the foot of Korrin’s Tower. They killed it, but their rabbitfolk guide died in the fight.
- Young dragons harried the Rootbeer Float on the way to the Ranchinian Peninsula.
- The dragons of the occupation. Five dragons of various ages perched on the buildings of North City to announce the Rose Ribbon Army occupation, including an adult white dragon on the Collector’s Mansion, an ancient red dragon who spoke for the army, and an adult black dragon named Canidoth that landed on the walls near the Coliseum. Greene beheaded a dragon in the fighting that followed.
- An invisible black and green dragon latched onto the Rootbeer Float on the way to Rice Town and helped bring the ship down.
- Chandra the Chaotic, a moonstone-colored dragon ridden by High Sorcerer Cobalt, whose dream breath knocked the party unconscious at Rice Town. Like the invisible dragon before it, it had a charmed, emotionless look. The Cacklers found the crystal-powered machine used to control the dragons there.
- A dragon that attacked the airship on the way to the Toasty Desert, demanding the party’s wealth. They offered it rice. Greene turned it to ash.
- Commander Red, revealed at Muscle Tower as Isidar the Conqueror in ancient red dragon form.
Campaign 2
- Khalor the Dreamreaper, the adult gold dragon partnered with the Velvet Truffle Company. He breathes fire and a weakening breath, banishes foes with a roar, and his Dream Harvest causes a magical sleeping sickness.
- A deep dragon sleeping inside a waterfall in The Underdark, which the party snuck past.
- The toll dragon, a horned, hooded figure near that waterfall who demanded double toll and turned into a dragon when the party couldn’t pay. Ellery killed it with a flying kick. Its lair was full of treasure.
- Masha’s dragon. Masha can conjure a brown dragon of her own. Khalor called it a “pretender of a dragon.”
Aberrations and things from the deep
- Aboleths. In Campaign 1, an aboleth fought alongside a sea creature in the depths of Buttermilk Under the Sea and killed all of the party’s water genasi allies. In Campaign 2, an aboleth rose out of a cloud of mucus beside the C.P.H., charmed Escher and dragged Ellery under. She kicked it in the eye and it burst into ink, leaving her skin coated in a painful slime that only a remove curse spell could clear.
- A beholder rose from a river in the Underdark, shut down the party’s magic with its central eye and flung a sleeping Ellery into the current. Nelda blew it into a cloud of daggers.
- Mind Flayers, represented by The Whisper.
- A roper in the Toasty Temple.
- A black pudding camouflaged against the filth of the Saline Coast Sewers.
- A basilisk in the same sewers, which nearly ended the party.
Dream eaters and the FeyWild
- Kirby the Dreamwarrior, a large pink blob from The FeyWild, was the Cacklers’ first-round opponent in the Greatest Below the Heavens tournament. It is a dream eater that can steal and mimic people’s powers. (C1 Chapter 06)
- Crystal beings overran the Uknekian lands in the FeyWild, growing crystals out of the ground and the limbs of trees. At the heart of it was a crystal behemoth with a dwarven shape inside. Terra Misu cut her way out of it with her axe.
Undead
- A minotaur skeleton in the labyrinth at Fortuneteller Yaba’s palace.
- A flameskull in the Toasty Temple.
- A shadow in the Silent Vaults.
- The Bloodhowler’s horde: a skeletal giant elk he rode into battle and a swarm of zombies, many destroyed when Kip turned undead.
- The VTC necromancer’s zombies, five of them, burst from coffins in the crypt under the morgue alongside a bloated, risen Tobias Blackwood.
- A skeletal gambler in The In-Between who made the party ante memories to pass.
Plants
- A corpse flower, a massive plant made of decaying remains, ambushed the party outside the old Temple of Cyrollellee.
- Horrid plants, grotesque cabbage-like creatures, burst from the kitchen of the Farmer’s Hoe in Green Hollow. Arghen cleared them out with his axe.
Beasts and monstrosities
- Giant hyenas (thirteen of them) and a lamia in the Toasty Temple, along with an ettin named Nick Nack.
- Hydras off the Ranchinian Peninsula.
- Stirges at Master Toshi’s turtle beach.
- A water elemental in a rushing river behind the temple of Buttermilk Under the Sea.
- A baby kraken outside the mermaid kingdom near the Toasty Desert.
- Wolves, three of them, drugged and let loose from the zoo at the Saline Splendor Festival.
- An owlbear on the road to the Last Drop, which forced the party to move with caution.
- A bugbear, Gurgle’s muscle in the goblin cave.
- A scarab swarm in the Saline Coast Sewers that nearly killed Nelda.
- A bullette that burst out of the road, crushed the party’s new wagon and tried to drag Nelda into its burrow. Escher put it to sleep with a vial of Essence of Ether up the nose.
- Iron-scaled bulls, a stampede of metallic bulls in a pine forest near Green Hollow.
- A giant ruin spider in the temple depths. When Nelda split its head, tiny spiders skittered out.
- An Armanite in an Underdark mushroom clearing.
- Ozaroo, the giant ape form of a Saiyan under an eclipse.
- A snarl fin kitten, a cross between a cat and a small reef shark. Nelda’s is named David.
Shapeshifters and cursed things
- Mimics. One posed as a treasure chest in Gurgle’s cave, another as a chest in the sewers, and another as a chair in Sawyer’s office.
- Were-creatures. Captain Rootbeard was a werewolf. His bite and the Collector’s curse combined to turn Greene into a “were-tiger wolf,” and the lycanthropy spread to Oolong and Juliette.
- The Gnoloo, who can take the form of a giant bird, a giant purple worm, or a cloaked humanoid with a beak.
- A sea hag who took a hair from Greene’s head in exchange for Princess Athena’s release and the removal of the transformation from the party’s curse.
Fiends
- A red devil with Golden Bagpipes challenged Nelda to a musical duel for her soul and lost.
- An infernal tiger in armor boarded the Rootbeer Float and was killed before anyone asked where it came from.
- Creatures from a portal in the Rootbeer Float’s cargo hold: little flying things, a winged boar, an antlered horned brute, and beyond the portal, a fire giant.
Constructs and machines
Campaign 1
- Glass golems guarding Dr. Gero’s lab under Grimscale Tower.
- A machine construct modeled on a living creature, with a lightning breath.
- A saw-blade automaton, a whirring circular machine.
- Automaton 13, a dome-like machine with a big purple eye that grappled the whole party.
- Androids 6 and 7, amber-colored, sewn together from body parts, guarding Raviki’s vault in Cherudo Beach.
- Cybermen and a Dalek guarding the Collector’s Mansion. Elyon banished the Dalek.
- Two androids that ambushed the party on the road outside Parmesan Diego.
Campaign 2
- Cursed and animated objects: the exploding oven at the Sweet Crust Bakery, and the animated weapons in Garrick the smith’s armory, starting with the dagger that flew out of his chest.
- Coghaven security: droids, spider-legged drones that spin crystalline webbing, a disco drone, a construct that slows with blue energy, and a hammer-handed golem at the forge.
- Dr. Wheelo, a brain in a vat on mechanical legs, and his CabbAutomaton, a mechanical copy of Cabba.
