Quick facts

Campaign: Campaign 2 · Session: 19 of 83 · Arc: The Bloodhowler · Where: The Warhorde Clan camp

As the Warhorde Clan prepared for the attack, the clan’s priestess told the legend of the Bloodhowler. It was not a single being but a title passed down through generations, a curse that consumes those who hunger for chaos, feeding on their darkest desires until they are wholly transformed. The coming battle was not just against a powerful enemy but against an ancient, corrupting evil.

Wilbur’s father, Grommash Crushmore, revealed a personal connection. He told the story of his brother, Eldon Crushmore, a cruel and violent man obsessed with the legend of the Bloodhowler who heard “whispers” giving him orders. Grommash had long suspected Eldon of killing their father during a hunt, a crime he could never prove but which led him to banish Eldon from the clan. He now realized that the man called Eldon Reed was his long-lost brother, making the battle a tragic family confrontation.

The clan fortified the camp. Wilbur, whose tinkering had always been dismissed, was asked to use his “useless talent” to build defensive devices, and he finally found respect within his family. The Bloodhowler arrived riding a skeletal giant elk, followed by a swarm of zombies, and the heroes attacked. Kip turned undead to destroy many of the zombies, and Wilbur used thunderwave to blow Eldon off a watchtower. After a hard fight in which Ellery was knocked unconscious again, Wilbur fired a final shot from his laser pistol and killed his uncle, Eldon Reed, the Bloodhowler, as he tried to flee.
