Quick facts
Role: Archmage; rider of Chandra the Chaotic · Affiliation: Rose Ribbon Army · Status: Dead (killed by Greene)
High Sorcerer Cobalt was a Rose Ribbon Army archmage and the rider of the dragon Chandra the Chaotic. He confronted the Cacklers on the ice caps of Rice Town.
History
At Grimscale Tower, Cobalt and Chandra cornered the Cacklers and demanded their Star Orbs for the Rose Ribbon Army and Commander Red. When Greene pointed out that the Army’s idea of “peace” involved cities being destroyed, Cobalt ended the talk: “Just know that Chandra the Chaotic is not to be trifled with.” Chandra’s dream breath knocked out everyone but Terra Misu Umber.
Cobalt burst out of invisibility, banished Terra, and calmly looted the unconscious party. He took Juliette’s portable hole, bow, and goggles of night, Elyon’s ring of elemental command and wand of wonder, Oolong’s wand of polymorph and staff of the woodlands, and the beeping Dragon Radar. Failing to find the Star Orbs, he teleported away just before Terra returned.
In the fight that followed, Chandra used its magic to revivify the archmage. Greene tracked him down, and when Cobalt refused to give up the last Star Orb, saying he was “willing to die for the cause,” Greene struck him “straight through the temple” with his Power Pole.
