Character art from Dragon Ball (Akira Toriyama / Toei Animation).
Prince Vegeta leads the Saiyan clan in Arlia. He is proud, dismissive and very strong. Ellery has a crush on him, and in the end he told her he loved her as family.
History
Vegeta sent Caulifla to bring the runaway Ellery home (Session 5). When Ellery returned with the FAM after the first fight with the Bloodhowler, he confronted her for her absence and challenged her to a sparring match. She lost but earned his respect. He gave her a crescent-shaped yellow item to use only as a last resort and tasked her with finding Kakarot (Session 17). Ellery later admitted to Nelda that she had a crush on him and worried about their age gap.
In North City, Ellery tracked him to the Cackler Barrel, where he brushed off her concerns. The Whisper arrived, revealed himself as a mind flayer and accused Vegeta of executing his race, which the prince did not deny. Bulma Briefs teleported everyone out of the city, where the Whisper demanded the FAM help him kill the prince. Vegeta battered the Whisper with energy blasts until he fled, and nearly took Escher down with a series of strikes before he stayed his hand and demanded to talk. He told Ellery he had spared her and Kale as infants because Nappa had a “soft heart,” and that Cabba had known of the royal lineage since birth but was sworn to discretion (Sessions 60–61).
The Whisper later turned Vegeta into an Ozaroo alongside Ellery, Goku and Gohan. Greene severed his tail and he reverted, unconscious. Afterward Vegeta agreed to travel to Namek with Goku to find a new guardian for the Star Orbs, on condition that he get a high-gravity training facility when he returned. Before leaving, he told Ellery he loved her as family and was proud of how she had grown (Session 68). When Ellery searched for energy signatures in Coghaven, his was absent. Cabba had been captured while searching a ship for something Vegeta sent him to find.
