Quick facts

Campaign: Campaign 2 · Session: 68 of 83 · Arc: North City and the Cell Games · Where: North City, CAGS, Ye Olde Inn, Cackler Barrel

The sun rose over North City on the eve of The Cell Games, with a mix of dread and optimism in the streets and vendors hawking bootleg merchandise to crowds near the Coliseum. The party discussed the Star Orbs, realizing they now had access to all seven after the confrontation with The Whisper. They debated using them for a magical “redo” if the battle went catastrophically, while Greene organized a mission to Planet Namek to bring back a new guardian for the orbs. Prince Vegeta and Goku were judged the best emissaries for the journey, if they could be convinced to leave before the tournament.

Wilbur spent his last peaceful hours with Bulma Briefs, who gave him a special capsule case of tactical tools for the fight ahead. Escher negotiated a probationary enrollment for his brother, Fable, at CAGS, hoping to steer the young assassin toward a better path. The group met back at Ye Olde Inn for a big breakfast and checked in with their naval allies by sending stone as the clock ticked down.

Ellery and Greene tracked Vegeta to the Cackler Barrel to finalize the Namek mission. Vegeta agreed to go on the condition that he get a high-gravity training facility when he returned, which was quickly granted. Before leaving, the prince shared a rare emotional moment with Ellery, confessing his familial love and pride in how she had grown. It closed a chapter of their shared Saiyan history before he left for the stars.

The party spent their last night before the Cell Games drinking at a local tavern. In a somber ritual, Ruby used powerful magic to purge the cursed souls from Nelda’s glaive, revealing that the soul of Nelda’s father had been shielding her from the worst of the weapon’s torment. The night ended with a chaotic game of “truth or dare,” in which Ellery shared her first kiss with a dwarf named Reginald, an old flame of Bulma’s, before everyone went to rest for the tournament that would decide the fate of Arlia.
