The first conspiracy
Isabella Thorne
An investigative journalist whose death was blamed on a sea creature. At the morgue, Kip found she had actually been stabbed (Session 3). Her house was firebombed while the party searched it.
Yorn and Yagra
Two half-orcs who set Isabella Thorne’s house on fire on orders from “E.R.” (Eldon Reed). The party defeated them. Asked to choose “gold or steel,” Yorn chose steel. Wilbur’s merciful killing blow missed badly, and Yorn died a long, painful death until Ellery put him out of his misery (Session 4).
Murtog and Mullroy
City guards. The party talked their way past them after the fire by claiming to work with the Catman (Session 4), and later Nelda flirted with them to get into the prison (Session 10).
The zookeeper
A distraught zookeeper who told the party the escaped wolves had been drugged and that Felix was missing (Session 1).
Basil
The Catman’s partner and “great mouse detective” (Session 3).
Dave the Destroyer
A prisoner who took the keys from Kip during the prison break and freed the rest of the cells (Session 11). The newspaper named him among the fugitives.
The prison captain
Walked in on Nelda and Wilbur questioning Tobias Bigsby, which started the fight that became the prison break (Session 10–11).
Eugene
A farmer near Salt Spun Manor who sold Wilbur his old donkey, Steve, and a cart for 20 gold (Session 12).
Shops and services
Garrick
The dwarven smith who ran the Mariner’s Armory. He received an anonymous anvil, and the party found him dead with a dagger in his chest. The dagger flew out of his body and attacked them, along with other animated weapons (Session 7).
Mavis
Worked the counter at the Mariner’s Armory. She tried to lowball Wilbur on a cloak until he pointed out how flammable her shop was (Session 6).
Violetta
The alchemist who ran the Potion Haven, known for her knowledge of rare herbs and ingredients. The VTC caught her charging two poisons to its tab under the name of the dead Tobias Blackwood (a purchase Escher had made in disguise) and seized her shop for fraud (Session 45).
Greg
A young man running Violetta’s shop after the VTC took it. He wore a VTC uniform under his clothes (Session 45).
The potion seller
A young woman whose voice was permanently damaged by a potion accident. She sold the party healing potions after a debate about whether smaller people get more healing from a standard dose (Session 6).
The Sweet Crust Bakery owner
Received a cursed recipe book from an anonymous sender, in handwriting that resembled a burnt note found at Isabella Thorne’s home. One of the bakery’s ovens exploded (Session 6–7).
Harlan Ironfoot
The grizzled dwarf who runs the Rusty Anchor. Wilbur shoved him down a staircase (Session 25).
Kellem Stormforge
The merchant who hired the party to recover a chest from the Sapphire Tide. See Kellem Stormforge.
