Quick facts

Role: Mayor of the Saline Coast (until the special election) · Status: Unknown (last seen C2 Session 27)

Eliza Windrider was mayor of the Saline Coast when The FAM arrived. She was being slowly poisoned by her own staff until Wilbur carried her out of her house in a bag of holding. Once cured, she pardoned the party and stepped away from politics.

Overview

Windrider was known as a progressive leader with a background in environmental science and public policy. She pushed green initiatives to make the city more appealing and had a reputation for being approachable. Her staff were her chief of staff Darius Greenfield, press secretary Mira Faelan, policy advisor Jonas Whitestone, community liaison Serena Brook, and economic development director Hugo Langston.

Her rival, former mayor Cedric Lightharbor, blamed her focus on tourism for drawing criminals to the city.

History

Poisoned (Sessions 2–12)

In Session 2, Lightharbor used the escaped wolves and the death of a young woman to attack her policies in public. At the masquerade ball in Session 9, guests whispered that she had been kidnapped or was dead.

Wilbur snuck into Salt Spun Manor in Session 11 and found her frail and delirious. She said “the numbers” were wrong and the “stars are not right,” and that Orin and a kind woman named Lyla gave her strange drinks that burned. She grabbed his collar, begged for help, and passed out. Wilbur then overheard Orin and Lyla planning to abandon her after the election, so he put her in his bag of holding, set the room on fire and flew out the window (Session 12).

Recovery (Sessions 20–21)

Sylas Riverstride healed her at Beachside Books, and she told the party, “The stars aren’t right.” Once she was lucid, she explained that a friend had pointed out the constellations were changing and the stars weren’t where they should be. It was one of her last clear memories before she fell ill.

She also told them that after a month of being poisoned she no longer wanted to be mayor. She was willing to pardon the party for the prison break, but first wanted credible proof that Cedric Lightharbor was behind the plot.

The pardons (Sessions 26–27)

Wilbur showed her his flyers exposing Tobias Blackwood, and she approved them on condition that he remove an unsupported accusation against Captain Eric Stormshield. After reviewing the letters and contracts implicating Blackwood, she agreed to issue full pardons and free Nelda’s parents.

At the festival’s closing ceremonies, she publicly pardoned the party, called for the release of Nelda’s parents and Elby Thistletop, and ordered the arrest of Blackwood, Orin Coppercoin and Lyla Brightspark. Then she withdrew from the mayoral race and called for a special election.
