Quick facts
Campaign: Campaign 2 · Session: 21 of 83 · Arc: Curses, Sewers, and the Closing Ceremonies · Where: Saline Coast, the Valedriss home, Mercenary’s Rest
Catman appeared at a window demanding to be let in as guards closed in on Nelda’s family home. An intense escape followed as the group fought their way past the guards. In the chaos, Nelda felt a strange new power surge through her glaive, leaving a green hue and silencing the moaning voices that had been plaguing her mind.
Once safe, the group finally had a proper conversation with Mayor Windrider, now lucid but deeply troubled. She explained her cryptic warnings: a friend had pointed out that the constellations were changing and the stars were not where they should be, one of her last clear memories before she fell ill. She then confessed that after a month of being poisoned, she no longer wanted to be mayor. She was willing to pardon the group for the prison break, but first they had to bring her credible proof that her rival, Cedric Lightharbor, was behind the plot.
The search for proof and the trip to the Mercenary’s Rest brought strange encounters. They reunited with Sylas, who spoke through his parrot and revealed his history of betrayal with Bran. The party learned about Bran’s Old Adventuring Party and the adventure they went on to find an “object that changes fate.” Catman revealed himself to be a reporter and gave Nelda a recording of her admitting to the prison break, a piece of leverage that had been held by Captain Eric Stormshield. Escher received a mysterious telepathic message calling him “friend” and urging him to come forward. The party spent the night in the Cat cave.
