Tobias Bigsby is a member of the Saline Coast city council who was arrested for the attack on Cedric Lightharbor on the strength of Wilbur’s testimony. Wilbur later decided Bigsby was innocent and helped break him out of prison.
History
In Session 4, Wilbur panicked during questioning by Captain Eric Stormshield and told him everything, including that the smoke bomb used in the attack had been sold to a “Tobias B.,” according to his sales ledger. A town crier announced Bigsby’s arrest in Session 5, crediting “compelling testimony” from a “brave and vigilant citizen.” The party worried the authorities had only caught a cog in the wheel. Orin Coppercoin was overheard being shocked by the arrest (Session 8), and the group began to suspect that the smoke bomb’s buyer had been Tobias Blackwood in disguise.
Nelda flirted her way past the prison guards so she and Wilbur could question Bigsby (Session 10). The prison captain walked in, a fight broke out, and the party ended up freeing the whole prison. Bigsby said he had a safe place to go and would meet them at Beachside Books in twelve hours (Session 11). The newspaper named him among the escaped fugitives, alongside “Dave the Destroyer.”
In Session 20, the party met Bigsby and the ailing Mayor Eliza Windrider at the Beachside Books hideout.
In Session 29, Captain Stormshield accused Wilbur of feeding him false information that led to Bigsby’s arrest.
