The Trickster is one of the gods of Arlia. His story with the mortals of Arlia runs through Juliette’s family: he came into Juliette’s dreams during Campaign 1, her wish at the end of that campaign helped bring him back into prominence, and twenty years later her daughter Ruby paid his price for a miracle.
In Campaign 1
Juliette’s dream
After the fight with Grand Admiral Blue under Buttermilk, Terra Misu, Oolong and Juliette took a long rest in the tunnels. That night Juliette dreamed of the Trickster, while the others had dreams of their own (C1 Chapter 05).
The wish that raised his followers
The Rose Ribbon Army spent the campaign destroying towns across Arlia and rarely leaving survivors. When the Cacklers finally gathered all seven Star Orbs at Muscle Tower, they summoned Shenlong, and Juliette made the final wish: “Revive all of those that were killed by the Rose Ribbon Army.” Everyone the Army had killed came back across Arlia (C1 Chapter 14).
Many of the people that wish brought back were the Trickster’s supporters. Their return swelled the ranks of his faithful and helped bring him back into prominence among the gods.
In Campaign 2
In a vision, the Trickster admitted to Ruby that he had started a civil war among the gods by intercepting divine invitations and rerouting mortal prayers (Session 64). Earlier, the goddess Cyrollellee had told Kip of a growing fracture and war among the heavens (Session 54). See The War in the Heavens.
In Campaign 1.5
At The Cell Games, Ruby called on divine intervention and wished for everyone fighting Perfect Cell to be completely healed. Time froze, and the Trickster stood before her. “This is a tall ask. I’ll make a bargain. I’ll give it to you, but you have to come with me now.” Ruby agreed. Everyone was healed, and Ruby was gone from the battlefield, taken to serve as a representative in the civil war among the deities, The War in the Heavens (C1.5 Chapter 03).
