On the way to Fortuneteller Yaba, Greene picked up a cursed medallion and gave it away. Yaba’s trials forced each of the party to face someone from their past, and her answer sent them across the world. They came out of it with a new friend, Oolong, and a second Star Orb.
The Medallion of Luck
On the road to Yaba’s palace, Greene found a medallion in a cave. It was a Medallion of Luck, and it gave him good and bad luck in equal measure. Soon after, the party fought a group of goblins and captured the last of them, a goblin named Bip. Bip led them to his boss, Karl. Finding themselves badly outnumbered, Greene handed Karl the medallion, and the party went on their way.
Later, in the woods, Greene met a dryad. She explained that the curse of luck was still on him, and that the only way to lift it was to return the medallion to its rightful resting place. Greene said okay and kept walking.
The trials
Yaba’s palace in Pepper City held two trials. The first was a labyrinth full of monsters, including a minotaur skeleton. In the second, each member of the party had to fight someone from their past.
- Elyon fought her sister, Ashryn.
- Juliette fought Sgt. Major Maroon, the dragonborn who had killed her husband and daughter.
- Greene fought Lawrence Cyan, who was back in the land of the living on a one-day pass.
They won all three fights. Yaba then answered their question, though her contract obliged her to answer it in front of every participant, Maroon included. Juliette managed to distract Maroon through most of the location details.
Where the orbs were
Yaba told them the seven Star Orbs were:
- With the party (the Four Star Orb from Fire Mountain)
- On the southern tip of Rice Town
- In the Toasty Desert
- In a cave off the coast of the Ranchinian Peninsula
- In The Collector’s collection
- In a warehouse in Beerlia
- At Rose Ribbon Army headquarters
The pirate prison and Oolong
Yaba then teleported the party somewhere near one of the orbs. They landed in a prison cell, and in it they found a kenku named Oolong, who joined them. Together they broke out of the pirate prison and worked their way up the coast to Cherudo Beach.
Greene and Oolong were turned away at Cherudo Beach because of the dangly bits between their legs. Elyon went in alone and checked out a book about Toasty, and the party decided the Toasty Temple might hold the next orb.
The Toasty Temple
Getting through the Toasty Temple meant getting past an ettin named Nick Nack, a roper, a flameskull, thirteen giant hyenas, and a lamia. The party made it through and took their second Star Orb.
When they claimed the orb, a magical portal opened. They stepped through one at a time: Juliette first, then Greene, then Oolong, and Elyon last. All four came out in Ostenkask, Beerlia, but each arrived at a very different time.
