Quick facts
Campaign: Campaign 2 · Session: 50 of 83 · Arc: Green Hollow and the Cult of Brandoboris · Where: Near Green Hollow; Green Hollow
The party fought the transformed Kale, trying to bring her down without doing permanent harm. She unleashed devastating force energy that blinded and battered the group, focusing on Ellery. The party coordinated, with Wilbur and Kip providing magical support while Escher and Ellery landed precise strikes. Finally Wilbur fired a shot that knocked Kale unconscious, and she shrank back to her original, frail form.
Once Kale was stable, and under a suggestion spell to keep her peaceful, the party settled in to rest. During the night watches, Escher and Ellery talked about his upcoming secret mission, though he stayed vague. Later, while Nelda and Arghen kept watch, they saw a bright star in the constellation of Isidar the Conqueror suddenly flare and then vanish entirely. Arghen took it as a dark omen for the dragon they were hunting. Nelda was unsettled by how suddenly the star had “died.”
The next day the party reached a fork in the road, one way leading to Brinewick Hollow and the other to Green Hollow. They found the Green Hollow path less traveled and decided to go there first to help Kip’s mother reclaim her farm. The village was in “prep mode” for the upcoming Cornucopia festival, with banners going up and crates of turnips lining the square.
Kip’s homecoming was immediately complicated. He ran into childhood friends and his older brother, Pipkin, who had become a high priest. The reunion was cold. Pipkin blamed Kip for their father’s death and insisted that the marriage contract Kip had signed, which effectively signed away the family farm, was legally binding and would be upheld in court. The party then realized that Kip’s “wife,” Alana, and a group of intimidating halflings were already watching them from the shadows.
