Quick facts

Role: Thief and job-runner · Alias: The Thorned Rose · Partner: Mai · Status: Dead (killed by Elyon)

Meo is a thief Juliette used to run shady jobs with. Under the name the Thorned Rose, he killed Elyon’s mother and kidnapped her father, Kellam, and one of his jobs set King Piccolo loose.

History

Before the campaign

The Thorned Rose killed Elyon’s mother and kidnapped her father, Kellam, and Juliette was on that job with him. This was part of why The Ox-Queen summoned Elyon in the first place.

Ostenkask

When Juliette came through the portal from the Toasty Temple into Ostenkask, Beerlia, she ran into Meo. He offered her 3,000 gold to help with a job just off the coast. The two sailed to a floating Turtle Island, killed the creatures there, and stole a vase with a magical seal on it. Back in town, Meo paid her 4,000 gold, and she spent the night with him, though nothing happened, much to his disappointment. The next morning Elyon came into the inn to find Meo feeding Juliette strawberries.

Exposed

At the tournament in North City, Elyon learned that Meo was the Thorned Rose and that Juliette had worked the job that killed her mother. It opened a rift between the two Cacklers.

On the road to West City, Juliette tried to reach Meo but heard him in the middle of a difficult conversation. Oolong scried on him, and the party saw Emperor Pilaf unseal the jar holding Piccolo.

Death

The party found Meo in a cell on the third floor of Pilaf’s castle, with his longtime partner Mai in another. After Meo told them how Piccolo had been released, Elyon took her revenge, throwing a fireball bead from her necklace into his cell and burning him to death.
