Max is an Andalite who recruited Oolong to fight a silent plague in Ostenkask and later helped the party escape Beerlia.
History
When Oolong came through the portal from the Toasty Temple, a mysterious voice in his head called him into the woods, where he met Max. Max told him a plague was quietly spreading through the town and asked for his help. He gave Oolong the gift of Seerow’s Kindness.
The “plague” turned out to be yeerks taking over people’s bodies. Greene himself was taken over by Visser 3. When the party confronted the yeerks’ leader, Him, they found Max had been turned as well. In the fight that followed, Oolong rescued Max.
Later, as the party moved across the island avoiding patrols, Max told Oolong he had been in contact with another Rose Ribbon Army defector who could get them off the island. That defector was Ashryn.
The Collector at some point stole a glowing blue box from Max, and during her time working for the Collector, Terra Misu Umber was assigned to find Max’s shapeshifting technology. On that job in Beerlia, Terra, Amethyst, Masha and Vath chased Max, transformed to look like Oolong, through a portal into The FeyWild. The Cacklers recovered the box after the Collector’s death.
