Quick facts
Campaign: Campaign 2 · Session: 34 of 83 · Arc: Khalor and the Company at Sea · Where: A Velvet Truffle Company island
The group reached Salted Caramel Cove, an island controlled by the Velvet Truffle Company with a sand barge and an underwater company base, hunting the gold dragon that stole the chest. A dockworker denied seeing any dragon, was evasive and unhelpful, and finally told them to leave. Suspicious, Escher turned invisible and slipped into a building. There he overheard a conversation confirming the company had the chest and was sending it to a “mistress.” He watched as the chest was strapped to the back of a whale, which was The Gnoloo in disguise, and it swam off toward a place called Chonkerton. When he told the group, a furious Ellery confronted their employer, Kellem Stormforge, who accused her of breaking their contract by revealing his name to the company.
Consumed by a need for revenge, Arghen declared that his honor demanded he kill this dragon. He pulled out a petrified golden dragon talon and vowed to destroy the beast. The others were afraid and doubted they could face a dragon again, but Kip and Nelda were moved by Arghen’s plea and agreed to help him, and the rest reluctantly followed.
While the group debated, Wilbur went to a fortune teller named Miss Vera. Her cryptic reading mentioned a sturdy tower, a call to purpose, potential, mastery, and deception. Wilbur found it completely unhelpful. Back on the boat, the party learned that Kellem Stormforge’s ship was still docked nearby. Needing a way to chase the dragon, Wilbur declared their new plan: a boat heist. Everyone loved it.
