Victor Blackwood is the mortician of the Saline Coast and an old companion of Bran and Sylas Riverstride. He held The Fate-Changing Chest for years before handing it to The FAM.
History
The chest (Sessions 25–26)
Victor was part of Bran’s old adventuring party, which lost Elara Sunshadow at the Obsidian Spire. Sylas suspected that Victor had pocketed the fate-changing artifact during that failed quest. When the party needed the artifact for The Whisper, they tracked Victor down. After some persuasion from Nelda, he admitted he had it, a small black and purple chest, and gave it to them with a warning not to open it.
The crypt (Sessions 45–47)
In Session 45, a young man rushed into the Mercenary’s Rest to report that Victor was in trouble at the morgue. The party found him face down at the bottom of the stairs below the morgue, unconscious and bleeding a little where his head had hit the floor. The undead Tobias Blackwood lumbered out of the dark, and a VTC necromancer raised zombies from the crypt’s coffins. Victor was still unconscious in the crypt when the fight ended.
Later
In Session 83, Bran’s old companions walked out of the Mercenary’s Rest to fight the VTC so the FAM could escape. Whether Victor was among them is not known.
