History
In Session 42, at Buttermere, Gravy Bones and his men boarded the party’s ship. He questioned them about the murder of a company employee named Kenton Rusk, and about a wanted man, Tobias Blackwood. When he asked about someone named “Escher,” the party tried to pass Escher off as a harmless teenage prankster. Kip, trying to be helpful and truthful, mentioned that Escher was exceptionally good at disguises, which only confirmed the officials’ suspicions. Gravy Bones left two men behind to wait for Escher.
When Escher came back, he played an oblivious teen named “Ernest.” The men weren’t fooled and demanded a pat-down, which he refused. Ellery and Nelda intimidated them off the ship, with Ellery warning them never to call her a “bitch” again.
Gravy Bones also oversaw a prisoner transfer aboard a VTC prison ship. Masha was one of the prisoners, and that is where she overheard that Kenton Rusk had been killed.
