Goric was a fighter of the Black Parade and Wilbur Crushmore’s birth father. He died in Dr. Wheelo’s vats before Wilbur ever came to Coghaven.
History
Wilbur was raised by the Warhorde Clan and did not know Goric. His first trace of him came in The Underdark, where a soot-covered metal flower triggered visions of his father and of a childhood in a city engulfed by fire, ending with a directive to be a “Savior of the Broken, the Beaten and the Damned.”
When Wilbur reached Coghaven, the Black Parade recognized him as “Goric’s boy.” The metal flower he carried was the resistance’s emblem, and Gen Way said Wilbur’s flower was just like Goric’s. She told the party they had waited years because Goric said it would make a difference. They told Wilbur that Goric had died during a raid on the forge.
Otto had infiltrated Coghaven with Goric five years earlier, and their whole team was captured. After the city was freed, Gen filled in the rest. Goric had led a mission through Packaging, Shipping & Logistics to a special bay with teleportation circles, and his team was cornered there before they could work out how to use it. Goric was taken to the forge while the rest were sent to the workers.
Death
Goric was captured on that raid and taken to the forge, and from there he ended up in Dr. Wheelo’s vats. Below the forge, the party found a large metal-and-glass vat labeled “expired” holding a shriveled gnome. It was Goric (Session 78).
Gen also told Wilbur that Goric had loved him very much and had known him as Cedric, a family name passed down through generations.
