Cedric Lightharbor Jr. is the son of former mayor Cedric Lightharbor and the man Nelda’s father wanted her to marry. He is also a musician who performs as Verio Nightwind.
History
In Session 9, Nelda’s father demanded she attend a speech by Cedric Lightharbor so a marriage could be arranged with his son. Nelda refused, and her father cut her off.
In Session 25, after a concert Nelda gave in disguise at the Mercenary’s Rest, a fan came up to her and revealed he was Cedric Jr. When they met in Session 26, he turned out not to be the fascist pig she had assumed. He was a pawn in his father’s politics, disliked politics himself, and promised not to reveal where the party was hiding. In Session 32 he seemed to flirt with her and asked to join the party’s travels, which she clumsily deflected.
At Breadstock in Buttermere (Session 42), a musician named Verio Nightwind performed a heartfelt song he had written about Nelda. Encouraged by Ellery, she hugged him, and they made loose plans to meet again if both reached the finals.
In Session 71, Mia Vex told Nelda that a friend of hers claimed to be dating Verio Nightwind, the stage name of Cedric Lightharbor Jr. Mia’s father had asked her to slip that friend an experimental love potion to keep Cedric Jr. in North City, out of his father’s reach, so the VTC could better control his father. Nelda was relieved her former suitor had moved on but horrified that he was being coerced.
